Love's Hospitality team in Midland, Texas, earns top award

For most hotels, receiving the Choice Hotel's Ring of Honor award is a stretch goal. The rarest award in the business, the Ring of Honor award recognizes the hotels within each brand that rank in the top 1% in guest satisfaction, based on surveys and outstanding recommendation scores. Those who hold the Ring of Honor award are admitted into an elite group that many others strive to achieve. Now, Love's Suburban Extended Stay in Midland, Texas, can proudly say they are one of the elite after receiving the Choice Hotel's Ring of Honor award.

"I truly believe I have the best staff in Midland, Texas. Receiving the best scores on guest surveys is all because of the contributions of my amazing staff," said hotel general manager Dona Malone.

The staff at the 81-room, three-story hotel isn't new to nationwide success as they've been committed to excellence ever since construction began in 2016. A short three years later in 2019, they received the Choice Hotel's Gold Award, given out to the brand's top 8% of guest satisfaction.

"We opened in June 2016, and by October we were selling out every night. Our guests call us their home away from home," said Dona.

Since 2016, Dona and staff have evolved into what a hospitality role model should look like, all while raising the bar for how to treat guests.

One of the biggest factors in their success has been their close-knit family atmosphere that the staff has kept since the hotel's grand opening with half of the staff still employed to this day. Although working as one big family has continually lured guests back to stay with them, Dona also credits Love's for being a company worth representing.

"Love's is a great ownership group that positively impacts the guests and its employees. Happy employees create happy guests, and there's not another company we'd rather work for. The Love's family aspect that carries throughout all its partners radiates to the guests, and they see that. We couldn't ask for a better company to work for than Love's," said Dona.
