Corporate Employees Share the Love with the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, The Children’s Hospital at OU Medicine
Thank you to all employees who gave their time, energy and passion to Share the Love on Valentine’s Day. In its fifth year, Share the Love proved to be our biggest corporate volunteer day yet, with nearly 300 employees participating. Employees took time to fight hunger at the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma and the Moore Food and Resource Center.
This year, volunteers had more options than ever to contribute at the food bank. Besides sorting packaged food in the volunteer centers, employees put together healthy meals for the "Food for Kids" program in Hope's Kitchen and sorted frozen meat in the Protein Packing Center.
With every sandwich, cup of applesauce and package of crackers, we made a big difference for our neighbors in Central Oklahoma. Over the course of the day, employees packed more than 47,000 pounds of food and 40,000 meals.
To commemorate Love's 55th anniversary and its impactful partnership with the Regional Food Bank, Katie Fitzgerald, CEO of the food bank, presented Love's Vice President of Communications Jenny Love Meyer with a commemorative sculpture from a local artist.
Those unable to get away from the office for Share the Love showed their hearts in other ways. In the weeks leading up to Feb. 14, employees created more than 500 Valentine's Day cards that were delivered to sick and injured children at The Children's Hospital at OU Medicine.
Share the Love is one of the biggest examples of Love's commitment to make life better for others living in the communities it serves. Thank you for everyone who made Share the Love 2019 a resounding success.
