Passion to Teach Fulfilled in Career with Love’s
The art of teaching was ingrained in him at an early age. With a father who owned his own shop, Justin Muñoz learned about diesel mechanics for as long as he could remember. Muñoz combines his father’s teachings and his many years of diesel mechanic experience to excel as an area mechanic training manager for Love’s Truck Tire Care and Speedco.
Muñoz is based in San Antonio, Texas, but travels to three states to train and develop new diesel mechanic talent for the nation’s largest oil change & PM network.
“Love’s has given me the opportunity to fulfill my passion to teach,” Muñoz said.
We had a glimpse of Muñoz in action while attending the Great American Trucking Show in Dallas, Texas.

Professional driving Customers, mechanics students and kids were fascinating by Love’s Mobile Training Lab.
At Love’s, one of our core values is “create new opportunities through innovative thinking”, and Muñoz along with our additional mechanic trainers are creating new opportunities for men and women each week with Love’s diesel mechanic apprentice program.
“With only six to nine students in each training class, these apprentices get one-on-one teaching,” Muñoz said. “Hands-on experience in the Mobile Training Lab and in the shop builds up their skillset quickly.”
Muñoz takes great pride in his career and his passion for teaching new mechanics.
“Once I give [the skills] to you, [they’re] yours forever,” Muñoz said.
It started with family and it ends with family. Muñoz hasn’t developed any of his kids into diesel mechanics…yet, but he and his wife Vanessa have built a beautiful family and home, in part to his career with Love’s.
“I’m on the road training folks a lot,” Muñoz said. “However, I see my family more. I’m a family man, and I work hard for them.”
