5 Summer Maintenance Musts For Your Truck
Summer heat is in full swing which means it’s time to keep up with some maintenance. Here are five quick summer maintenance musts to take care of this summer at Speedco!
Oil and filter: Summer is the time of extreme heat, which can take as much of a toll on your oil as extreme cold. While most manuals will tell you that you should get your oil changed every 30,000 miles or so, the temperature can make that window shorter.
Air filter: You aren’t the only one that appreciates some air; your truck needs it, too! An unclogged air filter gives you better gas mileage and keeps your truck’s other systems up and running.
Battery: Heat alone won’t ruin your battery, but if it’s three or more years old it may cause some problems! Getting your battery replaced during the summer could keep you from dealing with constant dead battery problems due to the heat.
Tires: Big changes in temperature can cause your tire pressure to fluctuate. It's important to check your pressure and notice any changes to it. Tires that aren't inflated properly can cause a variety of problems such as reduced traction.
Coolant and radiator fluid: The only thing worse than the temperature outside, is having that same temperature in your cab. The heat during the summer can break down your cooling system and make it harder to keep things from overheating.
