Two Love’s employees honored for contributions to profession, community

Across Love's Family of Companies, we have many outstanding employees who inspire their co-workers and lead by example. Recently, two Love's employees were recognized for their contributions to their industry and to their local communities.

Wendy Thompson, Manager of Indirect Tax Accounting, was named to The Journal Record's 2018 Achievers Under 40 list. Thompson was one of 39 individuals recognized at the award ceremony on May 18.

"I am very honored to be selected for this award along with 38 young leaders from across Oklahoma," she said.

Wendy began her Love's career in July 2008 after graduating from Oklahoma State University. While at Love's, she has taken advantage of various leadership opportunities and become involved with a variety of professional organizations, including Young Professionals in Energy, Young Accounting Professionals and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She gives back to the community as a United Way Emerging Leader, and she serves as treasurer for the Children's Advocacy Center of Oklahoma and Thoroughbred Athletes. Wendy also volunteers with Junior Achievement and the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma.

David Stevenson, Proposal Manager at Trillium in Houston, was also recently honored as a member of the 2018 40 Under 40 award class by the Association of Proposal Management Professionals. Stevenson began his Trillium career in June 2016 and quickly began making a difference. He created and implemented a request-for-proposal response procedure, along with a billing implementation flow chart that eliminated billing errors, increased communication between departments and reduced project construction.

Outside of the office, Stevenson has been heavily involved in his community. When Hurricane Harvey devastated the Houston area last year, Stevenson and his family were quick to help those in need – from donating their car and providing meals to victims, to housing storm victims and helping demolish a flooded home.

David was very proud to represent Love's at the APMP conference in San Diego and encourages up-and-coming leaders to become ambassadors for their industry at every opportunity.

"Any kind of industry recognition is a great way to promote yourself and your company," he said. "It shows you and your employer are committed to employee professional development and that the two of you are industry leaders."
