Top 20 finish for Buescher at Charlotte Motor Speedway
Race: Bank of America 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway
Recap: Jimmy Johnson led more than 150 laps in a race filled with incidents to remain in contention for a seventh Sprint Cup Series title.
Chris Buescher: Buescher started 26th and finished 16th, not bad for a week with limited practice due to Hurricane Matthew. "That wasn't a bad race. For having no practice, we were able to get our #34 Love's Ford Fusion a good finish at the end," said Buescher. "We were able to pull off a pretty good run there at the end. We fought it for much of the day. It was finicky. If we had the practice like we all wished we'd had, it probably would've been a little better."
What this means: Although Buescher is no longer in The Chase, a Top 20 win definitely builds momentum for the rookie driver with six races left. Buescher looks to catapult into a Top 10 finish to cap off his first season in the Sprint Cup Series.
Next race: Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway, Sunday, Oct. 16.
