Buescher heads to Homestead-Miami Speedway to finish NASCAR season
Rookie Sprint Cup Series driver Chris Buescher makes his Homestead-Miami Speedway debut in the No. 34 Love's Ford Fusion this weekend as the 2016 NASCAR season comes to a close.
"I love Homestead," Buescher said. "It's probably my favorite large track that we go to. The bottom has a lot of grip early on. It's amazing how quickly that grip goes away, especially if you're trying to run the bottom off of Turn 4. You hit a spot and the thing just slides out from under you. Just being able to run right against the wall, and the speed you can carry, and how slick it is, you can drive it on the edge a lot. It's a cool place to race, basically everything we like in a racetrack.
Homestead presents a unique challenge for drivers. Carl Edwards described it as a place where you drive into corners and slide by the fence. And Buescher is up for the challenge.
"The track changes each time," Buescher said. "It's one of the racetracks that accelerates the tire wear in a hurry, and you can definitely feel it from the driver's seat. It's a lot of fun from the driver's seat. We'll look to put on a good show for the fans and end our season with Love's Travel Stops on a high note.
The weekend action starts Nov. 18 with qualifying at 6:15 p.m. ET on NBCSN. See Buescher take on the Ford EcoBoost 400 in the #34 Love's Ford at 2:30 p.m. ET Nov. 20 on NBC.
