Buescher brings smiles to race fans in Texas, earns Top 25 finish
It was another homecoming weekend for Sprint Cup Series rookie Chris Buescher. His weekend in Texas was full of family, fans and friends.
With practice and qualifying completed, Buescher enjoyed a visit to Love's 273 in Weatherford, Texas, to sign autographs and meet race fans.
After a long rain delay, the AAA Texas 500 turned into a nighttime race. Buescher made some improvements in the No. 34 Love's Ford Fusion and avoided some debris to earn a P21 finish.
"Twenty-first isn't a great finish, but it's a big improvement from where we qualified," Buescher said. "The car raced well, and it had practiced good. Our Love's Fusion was able to move forward in the race and we stayed out of trouble, narrowly avoiding one or two incidents, and we just kept plugging along. We were a better long-run car than a short-run car, and we seemed to get a little lucky with the weather not having to do one last short run to the end."
Buescher will be back in the #34 Love's Ford Nov. 20 at the Ford Championship at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
