"Bad Dancing Saves Lives" has been our slogan ever since Bluejay THON came to Elmhurst College in 2015! Bluejay THON has been a life-changing experience for students, faculty and community members.

Bluejay THON Miracle Network Dance Marathon raised $11,554.58 for kids at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. We danced for six hours: learning the morale dance, having a dance-off, playing basketball and participating in a power hour. We even had a jail cell where students or Miracle Kids were able to make donations to place their friends in jail, who then had to fundraise their way out!
In six hours, we met five amazing families who shared their stories and inspired us all to keep dancing for the kids. Each hour, these families brought the Elmhurst College community together to remember why we dance. Hearing how we have impacted their family reminds us all why we were there dancing our hearts out and supporting Lurie Children's.
Two years ago Elmhurst College had a vision that truly came true, and a year later, Bluejay THON has grown into an organization that continues to leave an impact on campus and our community. Lurie Children's relies on philanthropic support to care for more than 173,000 children each year. It is amazing to see of college students make such an impact on children's lives. Elmhurst College Bluejay THON proudly raised over $11,000, and we can't wait to see what next year events hold for us.
