Special NASCAR paint scheme for Daytona race honors military

The Fourth of July is filled with food, fireworks, fun and patriotism, and part of that fun is the Coke Zero 400 NASCAR race at Daytona on July 2. Front Row Motorsports driver Chris Buescher will drive the #34 Love's Ford Fusion with a military paint scheme that pays tribute to a unique organization called the Special Forces Charitable Trust.

"They provide support to the United States Army Special Forces community and their families. Love's is proud to honor the work they do, and we're proud to have them on our No. 34 car this weekend," Buescher said.

Over Memorial Day, Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores sponsored a concert in Nashville called Camp NASH that also benefited the Special Forces Charitable Trust. Artists such as Big & Rich, Parmalee, Thompson Square, RaeLynn, Breaking Southwest and Chuck Wicks played the one-day event, and we posted pics on the Love's blog.

But back to the fun at hand: nighttime racing at Daytona International Speedway!

"They say Daytona at nighttime is a little crazier, although I don't know if we really want to crank it up any more than we've seen already this year. Speedway racing at night is really neat. It looks incredible from the stands," Buescher said.

This will be the second time Buescher has been to Daytona this season. He finished 39th in the Daytona 500 after a hard crash with Matt DiBenedetto. Buescher said he's looking forward to a better finish this time around.

"We're going to try to get our speedway program turned around this year. We've had some bad luck in the first two races this year, but surely we've used up our bad luck by now," he said.

Qualifying happens at 4:10 p.m. ET on Friday, and the race goes green flag at 7:45 p.m. Saturday.
