Buescher could be in for big day road racing at Sonoma
Chris Buescher will make his Sonoma Raceway debut this weekend in the #34 Love's Ford Fusion, and if his simulator work is any indication, he could be in for a big day.
"If I can run a lap time in our Love's Travel Stops Ford Fusion like I can on the simulator, we'll be just fine," he told Front Row Motorsports in this Facebook post.
In all seriousness, Buescher said he's been listening to plenty of wisdom on the secrets to successful road racing.
"Everybody tells me as long as you keep it on the asphalt, you'll probably be all right at the end of the day," he said.
The Texas native has raced six times with Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores as his sponsor, including the Daytona 500 and races at Texas, Bristol and Talladega. Buescher said he's excited to try his hand at road racing.
"I love road racing. I have a blast doing it. It breaks up our season, just something different to do for a couple weekends. I've been to Watkins Glen, but Sonoma is going to be new to me. I've been trying to spend as much time as possible on Sonoma on the simulator and watching old video from there trying to figure out what I can," Buescher said.
Tune in to FS1 to watch all the action on Sunday at 2 p.m.
