Gemini driver enjoys serving Pennsylvania community as firefighter
We all have hobbies we enjoy outside of work. Some people like to go for a long run or maybe read a book, but for Gemini Motor Transport lead fuel driver Paul Thurkow, it’s a little different.
When he is not on the road, he is serving as a lieutenant in the Shartlesville Fire Company in Pennsylvania.
“I love to help people,” Thurkow said. “Seeing that I can make a difference in someone's life when they are having a bad day gives me personal gratification.”
Thurkow has been serving as a firefighter for 14 years. He admits balancing both Gemini and the fire company can sometimes be a challenge. Paul understands he needs to be at his best to care for Customers and members of the community.
“I have to pick and choose calls I respond to because I need to be well-rested to drive during the day,” he said.
Even though juggling both jobs has its ups and downs, he loves working for a company that listens and cares about its employees.
“Whether it’s my Regional Manager Scott Barber or Frank Love (co-CEO of Love’s), they have all listened to me and been there I when needed them,” Thurkow said.
At Gemini and Love’s, we love having people like Paul who are not only hard workers but also, committed to serving their communities as a part of our family.
