Love's donated $1 million to new exhibit to be built at SMO

See what they did there… "Curio" and "City" bears a likeness to "curiosity." And our curiosity was definitely piqued back in 2011 when Love's donated $1 million to a new family exhibit to be built at Science Museum Oklahoma. We didn't know what specifically would be included, but we knew it would be amazing!

Designed as a quirky village, CurioCity measures 20,000 square feet and is larger than 95 percent of all standalone children's museums in the nation. The exhibit features eight unique "neighborhoods" and hundreds of hands-on, interactive elements in which families can explore music, risk-taking, performance arts and more. "Neighborhoods" such as Spark Park, Wunderground and Tinker Works get families working together to build, dig and explore science in unexpected and entertaining ways.

CurioCity opens inside Science Museum Oklahoma on Father's Day – Sunday, June 21. To celebrate the grand opening, visitors to will receive a special commemorative CurioCity button. Additional activities include hourly giveaways, discounts on merchandise from The Science Shop, discounts on memberships purchased that day, Pavlov's Café specials with CurioCity-themed menu items and special activities.

Want to know how fun CurioCity is? Just ask Jenny Love Meyer, vice president of communications, and Shane Wharton, executive vice president of accounting and administration, who also serves on the museum's board. They got to test some of the exhibitsfirsthand last month.
