4 employees tell you why they love working at Love's

We appreciate the great people who work for Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores across the country, and when they reach a milestone, we celebrate with them!

Leasa Harns has been with Love's 282 in Joplin, Missouri, for 15 years.

"I like the different interaction with people who come and go, and I love the people I work with," Harns said.

In Aurora, Nebraska, Kim Graham is celebrating her 10th year with Love's.

"I love the atmosphere," Graham said.

Graham said she especially loves the customers she's befriended over the years, even one who once offered what she thought were words of affection. She was making coffee for the next shift during an era when Bluetooth headsets were first coming into style, and a customer was engaged in small talk with her as she worked.

Graham said -- next thing she knew -- the customer said, "I love you!"

That caused her to pause, consider and reply.

"I ... love ... you, too?" she said.

And that's when she saw his Bluetooth device, causing her to turn beet red immediately. The customer was talking to his wife on his phone.

"It was strange. He loved me, and I didn't know why, and I was kind of scared," Graham said.

Alas, great customers are one of two reasons why she loves working at Love's.

"Two reasons I love working here: The customers I have befriended over the years and the camaraderie I have built with my co-workers," Graham said.

David Eggers is celebrating his 10th year of service with Love's. He worked at Love's 411 in Des Moines, Iowa. Eggers tells us he loves that he always has a variety of things to do and that all his customers are extra nice.

Also from Des Moines, Iowa, is Billie Moreno, who is celebrating her 5-year service award with Love's.

Billie reiterated the same sentiment as other long-time Love's employees: The friendships with co-workers and customers that develop over the years are the best!

"I love all the people I have met over the years here at Love's, from the co-workers who have become friends for life to the customers," she said.
